Cards get a much needed victory.

Nice to see the Cards bounce back after the thumping on Saturday to beat the Astros, 3-1, and win the series.  Adam Kennedy looked good in the leadoff spot going 3-4.  Duncan had a hit and a run scored.  Rolen had a hit and 2 RBIs.  Albert went 0-4.  Ryan Ludwick went 0-4, but got robbed of a hit by Adam Everett put did drive in a run on the play.  Looper got his fourth victory, going 6 innings, giving up 1 run on 6 hits.  The bullpen pitched 3 scoreless innings, with Izzy closing out the ninth to pick up his eighth save.

Albuquerque (Florida) beat Memphis, 2-1.  Nick Stavinoha had a hit and drove in the only Redbird run.  Memphis only collected 4 hits in the game.  Blake Hawksworth had another good outing, giving up 1 run on 4 hits in 5 innings.  Chris Lambert pitched a scoreless inning, walking 2 and striking out 2.

Springfield was beat up on by Arkansas (Angels), falling 11-6.  The Cardinals were up before giving up 4 runs in both the sixth and the eighth.  Matt Scherer got the loss in relief, giving up 4 runs in .2 innings.  Nick Webber was also shaky, giving up 4 runs in 2 innings.  Colby Rasmus had a good game, going 3-5 with an RBI and is now hitting .277.  Juan Lucena had 2 hits and 2 RBIs.  Bryan Anderson went 2-4 with 2 runs scored.  Sean Danielson had a terrific day, going 4-4.

Palm Beach fell to Sarasota (Cincinatti), 4-2 in 11 innings.  Gary Daley bounced back from a rough outing last time out and went 7 innings, giving up 2 runs on 7 hits while striking out 2.  Luke Gregerson pitched 2 shutout innings.  Allen Craig collected 2 hits including his eighth HR of the season.  Danilo Sanchez and Shane Robinson each had 2 hits.

The Swing was rained out and will play a doubleheader on Monday.

Blake Dewitt went 1-4 with an RBI.

Mizzou got a big series win versus #5 Texas.  What is even more impressive is that it was on the road.

No matter your feelings on the situation, it is pretty cool how Roger Clemens announced his return to NY during the seventh inning stretch at Yankee Stadium on Sunday.

Congratulations to my daughter, Anna, for bridging from a Daisy to a Brownie Girl Scout.  I am proud of you.
