Hamilton promoted to Springfield

From the Springfield News Leader:  Mark Hamilton, a second-round supplemental pick from Tulane in June 2006, is in the Springfield Cardinals’ starting lineup tonight. And in some discouraging news, the team placed shortstop Tyler Greene on the disabled list.

Hamilton was summoned from High-A Palm Beach to take the roster spot of outfielder Joe Mather, who was promoted to Triple-A Memphis.

Hamilton, a left-handed bat, was hitting .290 with 13 home runs and 49 RBIs. He was recently voted to the Florida State League All-Star team.

The Cardinals also will call on former Oklahoma State pitcher Adam Daniels tonight. Daniels has pitched in Palm Beach all season.

I wonder if this mean Brandon Buckman will be promoted to Palm Beach?  Great move as Hamilton has really turned it on since a slow start.
